Heading ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ Bani ਜਿਹ ਕਰਣੀ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਸਰਮਿੰਦਾ  ਇਹਾ ਕਮਾਨੀ ਰੀਤਿ ॥ ਸੰਤ ਕੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਸਾਕਤ ਕੀ ਪੂਜਾ  ਐਸੀ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹੀ ਬਿਪਰੀਤਿ ॥੧॥ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹ ਭੂਲੋ ਅਵਰੈ ਹੀਤ ॥ ਹਰਿਚੰਦਉਰੀ ਬਨ ਹਰ ਪਾਤ ਰੇ  ਇਹੈ ਤੁਹਾਰੋ ਬੀਤ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਚੰਦਨ ਲੇਪ ਹੋਤ ਦੇਹ ਕਉ  ਸੁਖੁ ਗਰਧਭ ਭਸਮ ਸੰਗੀਤਿ ॥ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਨਾਹਿ ਰੁਚ ਆਵਤ  ਬਿਖੈ ਠਗਉਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥੨॥ ਉਤਮ ਸੰਤ ਭਲੇ ਸੰਜੋਗੀ  ਇਸੁ ਜੁਗ ਮਹਿ  ਪਵਿਤ ਪੁਨੀਤ ॥ ਜਾਤ ਅਕਾਰਥ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥ  ਕਾਚ ਬਾਦਰੈ ਜੀਤ ॥੩॥ ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਦੁਖ ਭਾਗੇ  ਗੁਰਿ ਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਜਨੁ ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਦੀਤ ॥ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਇਨ ਦੁਖ ਤੇ ਨਿਕਸਿਓ  ਨਾਨਕ ਏਕ ਪਰੀਤ ॥੪॥੯॥ ਅੰਗ-੬੭੩ Punjabi Meaning ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ। ਤੂੰ ਐਸੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਦਸਤੂਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਖਾਤਰ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਰਮਮਿੰਦਗੀ ਉਠਾਉਣੀ ਪਊਗੀ। ਤੂੰ ਸਾਧਾਂ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਦਖੋਈ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪੁਜਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸ਼ਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਐਹੋ ਜੇਹੀ ਮੰਦੀ ਰੀਤ ਪੱਕੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਖਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੀ ਲਗਨ ਦਾ ਭੁਲਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਤੂੰ ਹੋਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਾਦੂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਜਾਂ ਜੰਗਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਰੇ ਪੱਤੇ, ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਰਗੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਦਸ਼ਾਂ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ! ਠਹਿਰਾਉ। ਭਾਵਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਜਿਸਮ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਨਣ ਦਾ ਲੇਪਨ ਕਰ ਦੇਈਏ, ਫਿਰ ਵੀ ਗਧਾ ਖੇਹ ਹੀ ਸੰਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਖੁਸ਼ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੀਵ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ-ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਲ ਚਾਹ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਪਰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਰੂਪੀ ਜ਼ਹਿਰੀਲੀ ਖੁਰਾਕ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਅਤੇ ਨੇਕ ਸਾਧੂ (ਗੁਰਮੁੱਖ) ਚੰਗੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਜਹਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੇਵਲ ਓਹੀ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਵਨ ਹਨ। ਮਨੁੱਖੀ-ਜੀਵਨ ਰੂਪੀ ਹੀਰਾ ਬੇਫਾਇਦਾ ਗਵਾਚਦਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਕੱਚ ਦੇ ਵਟਾਂਰਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਜਦ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ-ਬੋਧ ਦਾ ਸੁਰਮਾ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਤੇ ਸੰਤਾਪ ਦੌੜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸਤਿ ਸੰਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਨਾਨਕ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੁਖੜਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਖਲਾਸੀ ਪਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। English Meaning Dhanaasaree, Fifth Mehl: You have made it your habit to practice those deeds which will bring you shame.
